12 Lead EKG Module 1 (12 Lead EKG-Mod 1) Module 1 reviews the materials that are taught in the beginning of the 12 Lead EKG Course. You may review the material at your leisure for review or take the quiz for CEU credit. Anatomy, Physiology, & Basics of Electrophysiology COURSE DESCRIPTION AND INTENDED AUDIENCE: COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to: 1. Name 3 of the surfaces of the heart. 2. Define RAO and LAO. 3. Recall 2 of the 3 main coronary arteries. 4. State in correct order the movement of the electrical impulse through the conduction system. 5. Describe the anatomy of the AV junction. 6. Name 2 types of accessory AV connections. 7. Define automaticity, excitability, conductivity, refractoriness and contractility. 8. Differentiate depolarization from repolarization. 9. Discuss the refractory periods in ventricular conduction. 10. Describe the ventricular action potential. 11. Discuss the role of potassium in the cardiac action potential. 12. State the inherent rates of various cells in the conduction system. 13. Describe 2 types of arrhythmia mechanisms. CREDIT: AACN File #12190-023, 3.0 Contact Hours, Category A, and expires 6/24/06. California Board of Nursing: CEP 12206-511, 3.0 Contact Hours or 0.3 CEU's. To receive credit you must study the material, complete the quiz and submit the quiz to us.
