The Basics Module 2 (Basic-Module2) Module 2 reviews the materials that are taught after the anatomy and physiology, and principles of electrophysiology portion of the Electrophysiology Training Program. You may review the material at your leisure for review or take the quiz for CEU credit. You may visit the site multiple times before you take the quiz for credit, as the goal is mastery of the material. The link to the quiz is found on the classroom page on the left margin. We hope you enjoy the course. The EKG Complex and Arrhythmia Review COURSE DESCRIPTION AND INTENDED AUDIENCE: COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to: 1. Name at least 3 diseases which alter the shape of the P wave. 2. Recall the implications of increased P wave width, notched P waves, tall P waves, and biphasic P waves in specified leads. 3. Define the normal width of the PR interval. 4. Relate the significance of a displaced PR segment. 5. Successfully label various types of QRS complexes. 6. List 7 features of the QRS which are routinely inspected and the significance of abnormal findings. 7. Identify the location of the J point on an EKG complex. 8. Recall 2 methods of rate calculation. 9. List the 5 steps required for proper analysis of an EKG strip. 10. State the normal width of a QRS. 11. State the criteria for normal sinus rhythm. 12. Relate situation(s) in which sinus bradycardia and sinus tachycardia are treated. 13. List 3 types of PSVT. 14. Relate the ECG findings in PSVT. 15. Describe the anatomic location where atrial flutter ablation is performed. 16. Recall 3 treatment issues/options for atrial fibrillation. 17. Identify 3 features of a PVC. 18. Differentiate features and treatment approaches for NSVT versus VT. 19. Define AV block and describe the gradations of AV block that exist. 20.
